Quick Response Teams (QRTs) are a method for facilitating recovery and ending the overdose cycle:
- Often individuals revived with naloxone refuse treatment
- QRT members typically include a law enforcement officer, a counselor/social worker, and an EMT or paramedic. The team visits an individual who has overdosed within days to encourage treatment and provide recovery support.
- The QRT member may be in long-term recovery or a peer support specialist, thus providing a strong message of support
